We are located at 303 S. 5th Street #140 in the growing Washburne district of Springfield, Oregon as part of the Cascade Peak Performance community. Founded in May of 2011. We are a smaller box (CrossFit gym) and a close nit, encouraging and supportive community of friends who help push each other to achieve our health and fitness goals. Why choose us? Smaller session sizes allows for more attentive coaching by a Head Coach with an expertise in working with beginners and those new to exercise, not just CrossFit. It also allows you to bond and build friendships with fellow athletes easier which you can rely on as a support system.
Being partnered up a larger facility allows members the possibility of Open gym access outside of session times. This can be ideal for those who are taking part in some of the supplemental programs with the CrossFit sessions to achieve their fitness goals. Travis has always lived an active lifestyle, he grew up playing sports year round as a kid, as an adult he has played some college football, competed in Muay Thai Kickboxing and has performed with local dance companies in numerous shows. He enjoys challenging himself physically and always looks for new ways to do so, which led him to discover CrossFit in 2008.
Degrees/Certifications include an Associate’s degree in Fitness from Lane Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Before completing his Level 1 CrossFit Certification, he had been certified as a Health and Fitness Professional through the American College of Sports Medicine. He has years of cooperative education experience in Therapeutic Experience and Rehabilitation from which he draws upon when coaching beginners and those recovering from injury. He is currently a Weight Training and CrossFit Instructor at the University of Oregon.
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that is comprised of constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity with the aim to improve an individual’s general physical preparedness by increasing their work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Workouts are performed in small groups and consist of weight training, calisthenics and cardiovascular exercises.
